In Pakistan, cost of education is a barrier to most children

In mid-2022, my brother, a hard-working, bright young man of community and altruism, was fatally wounded in a senseless act of violence. But we don't have to let that be his legacy. We can honor his memory by fulfilling his dream, to one day provide his hometown community in Pakistan with top-quality education. He understood the value of educational access, and worked dilligently toward his goal of providing opportunities for success and happiness to those children he knew needed it most. Today, he lives on through the continued effort of his mission, the Afzaal Hussain School Fund. Please join us in keeping his light alive, and help us leave the world a better place.

This fund, initially created to support Afzaal Hussain's family after his passing, has found a new purpose in continuing his life's purpose of helping others.
"Afzaal died, but not his mission."

Your contribution will provide opportunities for children to live a life they would not have had access to.

Join us in, and together we will make a better future for those who need it most!

Our Mission

Afzaal Hussain School Fund's dedicated community is the force behind bringing top-quality education to Pakistani students looking to make a change for the better.

Pakistan's children

constitute the second highest number of out-of-school children in the world. 44% of school age children are not enrolled.

More boys than girls

...are enrolled. For every two boys who are not in primary school, three girls are not enrolled.

source

Despite aid efforts

Pakistan is ranked 152 out of 189 countries in the UNDP Human Development Index ranking.

source

Pakistan needs more

Literacy, enrollment, and educational budget have consistently fallen behind compared to regional countries.

source

Only 58 percent

of Pakistani children are literate, compared to 80% in China and 85% in Iran.

source

22.7 percent

of Pakistani children starting primary school will drop out. This is the 3rd highest rate in the world.

source

Pakistan's education budget

Is 2.4% of the GDP, compared to the world average of 4.3%.

source

Educational Facilities

Are in short supply, with schools often making do with inadequate facilities and resources.

source

Many problems

Affect the quality of education in Pakistan. Overpopulation, short staff, outdated cirriculum, and safety are some of the top causes for illiteracy.

"Every teacher has an impact on the students, and every student has an impact on the people they touch, and so on. The reach of a student's impact is hard to grasp. That's the beauty of an education like this. It's not just about the students, it's about the world."
